Lithium-ion batteries have inherent risks if misused or mishandled. They can explode, causing severe burns, injury, fatality, and/or property damage. Follow these safety guidelines strictly:
- Always keep all batteries out of reach of minors and pets.
- Do not place batteries near a fire, oven, microwave, or expose them to any temperature over 100°C (212°F).
- Do not carry or store batteries outside of their protective packaging or protective cell base.
- Do not carry batteries in your pocket, bag, or purse.
- Do not store batteries or bring them in close proximity to any metal objects, including coins and keys. Doing so can short-circuit the battery, causing explosion, combustion, and/or fire.
- Do not carry any device that contains a battery in your pocket or on your person. The device may malfunction and/or short-circuit, causing an explosion, combustion, and/or fire.
- Do not exceed the maximum cell wattage or amperage listed on the battery or packaging. Doing so may overload the battery cells and cause them to combust, explode, and/or catch fire.
- Do not use an ohm resistance lower than specified on the battery and/or packaging.
- Do not use a battery that shows any signs of damage to its structure or protective outer label/wrap/sleeve/skin. This includes dents, tears, nicks, punctures, corrosion, or any other abnormalities or undisclosed damage.
- Do not leave any battery unattended while charging.
- Remove batteries from the charger as soon as they are fully charged to avoid exposure to potential charger malfunctions, such as overcharging.
- Do not charge batteries above the maximum charge voltage or discharge below the minimum cut-off voltage. Doing so may damage the battery and cause combustion, explosion, and/or fire.
- Do not use different battery types in one device—both batteries must be identical. Mixing batteries in any way can lead to one or more cells being overcharged or over-discharged, causing combustion, explosion, and/or fire.
- If using a device that requires more than one battery, ensure the device has a non-conductive barrier (typically plastic) or fitment that prevents batteries from touching one another and/or any adjacent metal (with the sole exception of the top and bottom of each battery). Otherwise, a short-circuit may occur, causing combustion, explosion, and/or fire.
- Always use, charge, connect, and operate batteries according to the capabilities, instructions, and guidelines listed on the battery, packaging, and/or owner’s manual.
- Read and fully follow all warnings listed on the battery, packaging, owner’s manual, and the manufacturer’s website.
